Wheel Throwing Taster Session

Dive headfirst (or more like hands first!) into the art of wheel throwing with our talented tutors! This 4hr intensive course has been designed for complete beginners so absolutely no prior experience is necessary. Make sure to wear some clothes you don’t mind getting messy, roll up your sleeves and get ready to learn the basics of wheel throwing.
In the workshop you’ll learn:
- How to centre clay
- How to pull up the walls of a thrown pot
- How to shape your pot
- How to remove pots from the wheel
At the end of the class you’ll have made either a bowl or a cup which will be fired and glazed by our wonderful technicians, and will be ready to be taken home with you after a few weeks of receiving some TLC.
This class is perfect for those that would like to learn the basics, brush up on their skills if it’s been a while or just as a fun activity to do with a loved one.
Please note, we have 3 wheels which will be shared between a maximum of 6 participants, each taking turns to throw a pot.
