In this informal talk, jewellers Islay Spalding and Sara Marshall will discuss their artistic journeys, and the creative process behind individual objects they have created.

Islay Spalding is the founder of Double Door Studios. She will talk about the inspiration behind some of her bespoke kilt pins, and how she embeds personal meaning and stories within the work she makes.

Sara Marshall joined Double Door Studios after finishing her Masters in Fine Art at the University of Dundee last year.  Sara’s creative practice is shaped by her previous career in medicine and scientific research.
