Coiled Rope Basket Workshop

Spend the day with Eilidh Weir (All That is Braw) creating a coiled basket with recycled materials. Inspired by traditional coiling techniques used around the world in basketry for centuries, we will tackle the modern problem of waste textiles. Using fabric scraps, old clothes and salvaged rope, we will wrap, coil and stitch our ropes to create a sturdy basket or bowl. Exploring how the creative use of waste textiles and mindful processes can create a sustainable vessel for your home.
Bring your own textiles to recycle or choose from Eilidh’s stash, your colour choices and shaping will ensure your basket is one of a kind.
