Dundee Design Festival 2017 took place from 25–29 May at West Ward Works, Guthrie Street.
Welcome back to Dundee Design Festival.
The festival programme included a stimulating series of workshops, performances, exhibitions and talks all held at West Ward Works.
The theme of ‘Factory Floor’ acknowledged the global shift in design practice where designers and makers blended forms of production – a mix of craftsmanship and industrial processes which created a hybrid of the very old and the very new.

For the first time, Dundee Design Festival introduces the Designer x Factory residency programme, in partnership with Make Works.
Founded in 2014 by Fi Duffy-Scott after travelling over 3,000 miles from Shetland to the Borders to visit and map Scottish manufacturers, Make Works has helped make fabrication in Scotland more accessible for artists, designers and makers.
