Katie New is a jewellery designer with over 23 years making and teaching experience. After teaching design for 20 years in London, Katie returned to Dundee in 2018 having first trained at Duncan of Jordantone College of Art and Design in Dundee in the 1999s. Putting a lifelong dream to put home and studio together, she now has an orangery studio. Katie offers bespoke commissions and runs fun filled workshops in the orangery. Her collections use bright glass enamels, and a celebration of coloured gemstones contrast with textured intricate leaf prints and seed forms. Kt New jewellery combines interest in botanic structures and influences by her travels in Japan and contemporary craft. Each piece is individually crafted and is unique to the plant used to make it. Katie New has been a Fairtrade gold licensee since 2016. Providing luxury pieces produced with ethical jewellery practices.
